Pokemon Unite: How to Get Aeos Gems and What Do They Do?

Do you want some in-game cosmetics from the Aeos store that are only purchased with Aeos gems? Or do you want to unlock a playable character without having to grind for all those Aeos coins? Well, unfortunately, there aren’t many ways to get Aeos gems, unlike the other currencies in Pokemon Unite.

The Aeos gems are a form of premium currency which requires real money to get them. Luckily, there’s one more way of getting Aeos gems that, while still requiring you to spend your actual money, gives you an opportunity to earn these gems passively. Read on to find out how to get Aeos Gems in Pokemon Unite.

Method #1: Purchasing Them Directly

As mentioned above, if you want Aeos gems, then you’ll have to spend money as there’s no way to get them otherwise. They aren’t in the Energy Reward gacha, nor are they in the Battle Pass. They also never come as rewards for completing missions, regardless of whether they’re daily or event missions.

To purchase Aeos gems, launch the game, log into your account, and go to the main menu. From there, either press the ‘+’ button if you’re playing on a Nintendo Switch, or tap on the ‘+’ icon next to the Aeos gems icon on your screen if you’re playing on a mobile device.

From there, simply select the bundle you want to purchase. Fortunately, Pokemon Unite offers players multiple bundles depending on how many Aeos gems they require, so they don’t have to spend more than they have to. The bundles along with their prices are as follows:

Number of GemsPriceBonus Gems
60 Aeos gems$0.99+60 Aeos gems on first purchase
245 Aeos gems$3.99+245 Aeos gems on first purchase
490 Aeos gems$7.99+490 Aeos gems on first purchase
1,220 Aeos gems$19.99+1,220 Aeos gems on first purchase
2,450 Aeos gems$39.99+290 Aeos gems on every purchase
3,050 Aeos gems$49.99+450 Aeos gems on every purchase
6,000 Aeos gems$99.99+1,100 Aeos gems on every purchase

If you aren’t able to purchase the more expensive bundles, then there might be parental or other restrictions set on your account stopping you from doing so.

Method #2: Purchasing a Unite Membership

A rather late-game addition to Pokemon Unite was the option to purchase a membership called Unite Membership. For a monthly fee of $9.99, you will receive a whopping 40 Aeos gems PER DAY. Valid for every day you spend as a member.

This totals to a grand 1,200 Aeos gems over the course of a month, which would require more than twice the amount you spend on a Unite membership if you want to purchase this exact number of gems directly.

In addition to this, Unite memberships also offer players extra benefits such as different holowear for Pokemon they own every single month and other special premium benefits.

All That Glitters

So no, there’s no way to get Aeos gems without spending actual money, if that was the answer you were looking for. However, it’s expected that they will add a way for players to earn at least some gems as future Battle Pass rewards.

When it comes to which method is better, however, if you’re a first-time purchaser then those first-time rewards for directly purchasing Aeos gems will be too good to pass up. Otherwise, purchasing a Union membership is definitely the better option due to the extra benefits you get.
