Want to know where to find Beldum in the Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? Stick around. We’ll cover the habitats where this Pokémon is found and how to catch it.

Some of the most beloved Pokémon have made a comeback in the Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, including the Beldum line. Its evolutions are Metang and Metagross, the latter being a favorite among franchise fans since its debut in Generation III. Apart from the unique designs of these monsters, Metagross is a top-choice team member among competitive players thanks to its Psychic/Steel typing and sheer strength. No doubt, you’ll want to add Beldum to your team to obtain both of its evolutions. Here’s where you can find and catch this sought-after Pokémon in the Indigo Disk DLC.

Beldum is one of the rarest spawns in the Indigo Disk DLC, primarily appearing at high altitudes in the Polar Biome of the Terarium. You might also have some luck spotting one of these Pokémon in the cave systems of the Canyon Biome, though your chances are pretty slim here.

That said, I would recommend sticking to the colder region. I initially spent about an hour searching for a Beldum here without any luck. However, the task became much easier once I scaled the cliffside on Miraidon. Luckily, I encountered quite a few of these Pokémon along the cliff’s edge. This seems to be where Beldum appears most frequently, so you’ll want to start your search in high places.

Pokémon Scarlet/Pokémon Violet Expansion Pass: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero (Retail Version) Standard – Nintendo Switch [Digital Code]
  • Only one code for a Hisuian Zoroark can be used in either the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. Upon purchase of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, an email with your code will be sent to the email address registered to your Nintendo Account. From the in-game menu, go to the Poké Portal, then select Mystery Gift, select Get with Code/Password, and then enter your code.
  • The Mystery Gift option can be found within the Poké Portal menu option in the X menu after you unlock the feature in the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. (This occurs after about 1 to 1.5 hours of gameplay, though individual gameplay time may vary.) An internet connection and a Nintendo Account is required to redeem the item in game. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required. Each item can only be redeemed once.

How to Catch Beldum

It’s worth noting that Beldum boasts one of the lowest catch rates in the franchise, making it just as difficult to catch as a Legendary Pokémon. Because of this, you’ll want to make sure you come prepared with quite a few Poké Balls to secure a catch. Ultra Balls are the most powerful variety that you can purchase, so these are your best bet. Of course, you can also try the Quick Ball method on your first turn to maximize your odds.

If you wind up in a drawn out battle, don’t lose hope. Without exaggeration, I went through quite a few battles against Beldum before I actually managed to catch one, as each Pokémon wound up struggling after using up all its moves. This is because wild Beldum are solely equipped with Tackle, lending you 35 turns to catch one before the move’s PP dwindles.

While this may seem like a lot of time to catch the Pokémon, it will likely continue to break out of every ball thrown unless it has low health and a stat condition. That being said, I strongly recommend using False Swipe and inflicting paralysis with a move like Thunder Wave. This will help to ease the process.
