Completing the Path of Legends

The Path of Legends questline is the one that is most closely related to the Area Zero quest, as both quests revolve around helping Arven. Arven wants your help in nursing his Mabostiff back to full health. However, he requires a special kind of herb called Herba Mystica to heal his partner.

Each Herba Mystica is guarded by a Titan Pokémon, which has grown thanks to the properties of the mysterious herb. There are six Titan Pokémon in all, scattered across Paldea. You will need to track down each Titan Pokémon, though Arven will give useful hints as to where they can be found. By defeating each Titan Pokémon, you can complete the questline and unlock upgrades for Koraidon and Miraidon.

Once all six Titan Pokémon have been defeated, Arven will challenge you to a battle. Defeating him completes the questline, and Arven will accompany you as you travel to the bottom of the Great Crater of Paldea. However, he thinks that your group will need at least two more companions, one who is a Champion-tier trainer, and one who is good with tech. Nemona and Penny happen to fit those descriptions, so their questlines will then need to be completed.

Completing the Path to Victory Road

Victory Road is the traditional Pokémon questline, requiring you to travel the region and beat eight gym leaders to earn their gym badges. Once every gym leader has been defeated, you can travel to Victory Road and challenge the Elite Four to become the Top Champion.

Each gym leader will use a specific type of Pokémon, as well as a Pokémon who they will terastalize, each with a tera type that is the same as the other Pokémon in their party. Once you’ve defeated every gym leader, the elite four, and the current Top Champion, Nemona will challenge you to a battle. By defeating her, she will agree to join you on your journey to Area Zero.

Completing Starfall Street

The Starfall Street questline requires you to defeat the five Team Star Bosses, who have set up bases scattered across Paldea. You’ll assist Director Clavell in defeating them, helping him understand why the Team Star members don’t want to attend classes. Once you have defeated all five leaders, Director Clavell and, eventually, Penny will challenge you to battle.

Once Penny has been defeated, the members of Team Star will find a place for themselves in the school once more, and Penny will agree to join you on your quest to the bottom of the Great Crater of Paldea.
Once all of these questlines have been completed, Arven will contact you to begin your journey to Area Zero.
