It started as an Xbox exclusive, but Sony just confirmed that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is coming to PlayStation 5 this summer.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is the sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice from 2017. It was released in 2024, playable only on PC and Xbox. Naturally, PS users were not as happy, as once more we got into a discussion about platform exclusivity harming the gaming scene. The game itself, while on the shorter side, was praised for its realistic visuals and a pretty cool story. However, the hype was short-lived. That is, until Sony announced that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will be playable on PS5 pretty soon.
Sony Reveals that Senua’s Saga Hellblade 2 Is Coming to PlayStation 5
While there are certainly merits to making something exclusive to one platform, the gaming community is way happier if all of us, regardless of platform, can enjoy the game. And it looks like Xbox and PlayStation found a common ground, at least where Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is concerned.
On May 21, PlayStation’s X profile posted: “Battle darkness within and without… Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II comes to PS5 this summer.”
The fans are pretty excited, especially about the fact that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will definitely be enhanced for PlayStation 5 Pro, with a better framerate and resolution. Others are hopeful that the infamous Black Bars will be removed in the PS5 Pro.
But the majority is simply happy for the chance to play the game. “It’s not about exclusives anymore, it’s about money and getting gamers to play games. I’m all for this,” said CurtThe_Gamer, and “It’s a win win win for everyone. Xbox gets more money. Sony takes their cut of the money. And everyone gets to play games without having to buy a separate console.” added Volitz_.
As the fans stated, a win for everyone involved!
