Who hasn’t learned something many would consider essential embarrassingly late in life? Thankfully, you can always rely on your community to help you out. Path of Exile 2 community members took it upon themselves to give out some trading tips and help inexperienced players avoid being scammed.

Everyone Should Know These Trading Tips

If you’ve ever played Path of Exile 2, you probably know that trading can be quite a gamble. Especially lately, we’ve noticed a rise in the number of scammers, and whether that’s just a subjective feeling or a general fact, it’s always wise to pay attention and be cautious.

One player, Friendly-Squirrel, took to Reddit and shared their best tips on how not to get scammed. Their advice was mainly not to be too trusting, and to check everything before accepting the trade.

This player noted: “Corrupted stuff cannot be altered. The item is locked to how you see it, gems/maps/gear/etc. Make sure you are selling the item for what YOU listed it as. People change the quantities you list items for. It is a whisper system done by your client”.

The OP added: “When you buy something double check that you are getting sold what you are paying for. Be CAUTIOUS of people who take stuff out and put it back in. Items can have similar values/looks but sell for very different prices. Do not rush buying/selling, double/triple check your stuff. No need to scam yourself out of your time”.

Path of Exile 2 Community Offers Some More Advice

Being a helpful community, more Path of Exile 2 players contributed with some great trading tips. Remember, it’s crucial to inspect the items, don’t instantly accept a trade, mull over it a bit, and always check the value.

Rammurg stated: “Also a word of caution if you do lots of quick trades to help out a friend with free items – don’t let insta-accepting become muscle memory. One buyer was very happy to take a 7ex item for free and instantly leave the part”. Another player, 2kWik, added: “Another common one is people trying to buy Divines cheaper than the currency market. Always check the currency market to see the value of each currency”.

Finally, BitPsychological7316 shared some advice that everyone should follow. They said: “Rule of Thumb 1: If someone cancels trade and reopens or takes an item in and out, it is probably a scam. Rule of Thumb 2: Don’t trade item for item”.

There are a lot of reasons why so many players enjoy Path of Exile 2, however, scammers are one of the most annoying things in it. So, once you learn how to avoid them, the game will become even more enjoyable. Good luck!
