With the release of one of the most anticipated games this year, Once Human, players are introduced to Seasons. The idea behind the seasons is to keep this open-world survival game fresh and allow the developers to add new content with ease. However, some players might be confused about how the Seasons will work, so continue reading, and we will explain.
What are Seasons in Once Human?
Every server in Once Human has Seasonal Scenarios, that introduce new themes, mechanics, and different seasonal objectives, and they last for a limited time. Different scenarios will take place on different parts of the map, including the zones that are not yet unlocked, and they all have unique storylines. Moreover, every scenario will have specially designed objectives that reflect the theme of the season.
However, the scenarios do depend on the server type the players are playing on. PvE servers have scenarios that include new survival elements, while scenarios on PvP servers are oriented toward faction confrontations. Along with this, every scenario has unique mechanics, content, and environments, all in keeping with the theme of the season.
All seasonal scenarios provide players with a choice to either compete or join with others to achieve scenario goals. Moreover, when the scenario time is up, it will get restarted, and players can either take on the new scenario or try the same one again.
What Happens Once a Scenario Ends?
Currently, all the scenarios in the game have a six-week restart timer, and as scenarios get added to the game, this will change. Once a scenario ends, players will be able to hold on to some things they have acquired during the scenario. This means that the time and effort players invest in the scenario will not all get lost once it ends. Below, is a list of all the in-game content that will be transported to Eternaland and that players will get to keep:
- In-game currency – Starchrome, Crystgins, Mitsuko’s Marks, Stellar Planula, and Sproulets.
- Gear Blueprints, Blueprint Fragments, Weapon Accessories, and Mods.
- Furniture Formulas – excluding the ones gained through Memetics.
- Cosmetics, Expressions, Poses, and Namecards.
- House Blueprints – after the house is constructed.
- Main story and side story task progress – this includes tasks that were finished before a season ended.
- The friends list will be fully carried over, along with the records of all the players that joined your Warband, so you can easily add them to your friends list.
- Resources like materials, medicine, and ammunition will only be carried partially over to a new scenario.
Once a season is ended, every character will start a new season on Level 1, and all World Map exploration progress will be lost. Moreover, every new scenario will give players a different map to explore, effectively restarting the whole game.
