In a recent tweet and post, Tony from Player First Games announced that the MultiVersus Open Beta will be closing on June 25, 2023. His team is preparing for the launch of MultiVersus, which is targeted for early 2024.
During the downtime, all online modes and features will be unavailable. Players will have limited offline access to the training room, known as The Lab, and local matches, along with access to their characters and cosmetic items within these modes. All progress and previously earned or purchased content will carry over when MultiVersus returns in early 2024, with a variety of new content, features, modes, and other updates.
The team plans to focus on several areas, including the content cadence of new characters, maps, and modes, and net code and matchmaking improvements. They also want to work on progression system updates, among others.

Players can stay informed on MultiVersus updates by visiting the MultiVersus social and community channels, including Twitter, Instagram, Discord, and Facebook, as well as the MultiVersus.com website. The team has also provided a dedicated FAQ section to address players’ questions or concerns.
The announcement is pretty strange, as many players assumed the game was fully out. The beta was in tournaments and getting money from players, so it is weird to realize that it was never a full game just yet.
