Are you wondering if you can enable auto-run in Diablo IV? This article has you covered.
Diablo 4 is, as expected, larger than any other previous Diablo game in the past. However, with a huge world comes a lot of running from one place to another, and although the fast travel system does well to improve that, there are a couple of limitations to fast travelling.
Well, that’s where the auto-run system comes into place, a system that so many players have been asking for since even before the game was announced. Have the developers finally heard the request of their players? Well, you might not like the answer.
Is There Auto-Run in Diablo 4?
No there is no auto-run in Diablo 4. If you’re like so many other players out there and have scoured the settings of Diablo 4 looking for an option to turn auto-run on but have come up empty-handed then worry not, as that is to be expected.
The fact of the matter is that there’s no auto-run in Diablo 4, despite so many players asking for it for years now. It is unknown whether or not the developers are planning to implement this quality-of-life feature in a future update, though if they do, you can be sure we’ll be the first ones to update you about it.
While there is no auto-run, this does mean you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Sanctuary. Having auto-run enabled would cause you to miss landmarks and environments.
What is Auto-Run in Diablo 4
As the name suggests, the auto-run feature makes it so your character automatically runs toward a specific set waypoint without you, the player, having to use any input command.
This feature was added in Diablo Immortal, a game many think is similar to Diablo 4. However, the requirements for unlocking them were rather heavy. Players would have to complete EVERY quest in a specific region before being able to auto navigate or auto-run toward a named location.
As you can imagine, this auto-run (if it can even be called that) is not the type of auto-run Diablo fans have been asking for. Instead, they want to be able to press a specific button or input command to make their character automatically run forward. They would then use the mouse or their controller’s analog stick to determine which direction the character runs.
Are There Substitutes to Auto-Run in Diablo 4?
There’s no auto-run in Diablo 4, so you only have to use fast travel as a substitute. Well, either that or getting a mount. Although your player won’t be running automatically toward a specific direction, it’ll save you time if you want to travel to a named location.
Furthermore, with Diablo 4’s settlement feature, as soon as you clear a settlement, you can fast travel there, making travelling through the World of Sanctuary much easier. Of course, it isn’t the same as having auto-run. Worry not, as we’ll be the first to inform you if the developers decide to add it in a future update. Because of this, be sure to stay on N4G Unlocked!
