How to Get Okidogi in The Teal Mask Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC

As players progress through the main story of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC, there will come a point where you have to defeat the Loyal Three in battle and retrieve Ogerpon’s stolen masks. Once you’ve defeated the Legendary Pokémon, head back to Mossui Community Center. From here, each of the Loyal Three will be present around Kitakami in their normal forms, waiting for the player to catch them. Simply go back to Paradise Barrens to catch Okidogi.

Now, while in theory, it’s as simple as defeating Okidogi, retrieving the mask, and capturing him, this is easier said than done. Okidogi is a Legendary Pokémon; hence, it will be very difficult to defeat. Even though you have the aid of Carmine during the Titan Battles, they are hard to beat nonetheless.

To make things easier, let’s talk about Okidogi’s stats and attributes so you can get past him smoothly.

How to Beat Okidogi

When you head to Paradise Barrens and find Okidogi there with one of the three stolen masks, it is best to take at least one Poison-immune Pokémon with you. That’s because Okidogi is a Fighting Poison type. Not only that, but he also has a Toxic Chain ability. This ability is exclusive to the Loyal Three trio, and anytime you make a move against a Pokémon with Poison Chain, your Pokémon has a 30% chance of getting poisoned.

Also, remember that while this Pokémon can be captured later on, he is still a Legendary Pokémon, meaning you’ll need to give it your all. Make sure to save before attempting to defeat him in case the battle goes south, or you end up stunning him.

How to Capture Okidogi

We already mentioned above that after defeating him, you can go back to Paradise Barrens from Mossui Community Center to capture Okidogi. There are a few things you can try if you’re still unable to capture him in the Pokeball.

You’ll have better chances of capturing Okidogi at night, so if you can’t catch him during the day, wait until the game hits nighttime. You could also use a Dusk Ball on him since that will increase your chances of catching him.

There is one last option you could resort to, and that would be using your Master Ball on him, granted you still have it that far into the game. If you do, Okidogi is definitely a Pokémon worth expending this item on. He’ll be very useful on your adventures ahead and can help you clear tons of content, especially with his unique Toxic Chain ability.
