Recording Rarities Pursuit Guide: Where To Find Oarfish, Gulper Eel, Goliath Tigerfish & Coelacanth in Dredge

The Recording Rarities Pursuit in your seafaring adventure is a side quest that requires heavily researched gear, unlocked using Research Parts. It can only be completed after obtaining the most challenging Exotic fish in the game, which requires significant effort. However, the quest rewards you with eight Research Parts and is necessary for those aiming for full completion.

To complete the quest, you must catch four Exotic fish – Oarfish, Gulper Eel, Goliath Tigerfish, and Coelacanth. These are considered the rarest and hardest-to-find fish in the game, making the task challenging. Here’s where you can locate and catch them in Dredge.

To catch the elusive Oarfish in Dredge, you must have Abyssal fishing unlocked. To find it, head to Gale Cliffs, just north of the Family Crest Relic location, where you’ll see a waterfall. Be cautious of the sea monster along the way. After sailing through the waterfall, you’ll reach a cavern where you can use an Abyssal Rod to fish at the bubbling spot in the middle and catch the Oarfish.

Additionally, there is a chest that contains sellable treasures if you have enough space in your Cargo. Once you’ve caught the Oarfish, take it to the Travelling Merchant to receive two Research Parts.
