Nothing’s more satisfying than getting a high score in a game like Overcooked 2, where the score tracks how well you did and how many mouths you were able to feed in the time allocated to you.
However, although Overcooked 1 and 2 traditionally only have up to three stars you can achieve for every mission, it’s possible to unlock a fourth star for every mission as well. As expected, the requirements for a fourth star are much higher than the other three stars and are sure to put your cooking skills to the test.
We’re here to tell you what you need to do to unlock the fourth star for all the missions, as well as to give tips that might help you
Overcooked 2: How to Get 4 Stars
Before you can unlock the fourth star in Overcooked 2 for any mission, you first need to unlock the feature itself. The developers of this game wanted the fourth star feature to be akin to end-game content. Because of that, players first need to finish the main campaign to unlock this feature.
As soon as you complete the main game, which means World 6-6, (DLC missions aren’t necessary even if you have them installed) you’ll unlock the new game+ feature which includes the fourth star feature as well.

To confirm whether or not the feature has been unlocked for you, go back to the main menu, and you’ll see a little + sign next to the new game option. Keep in mind that this is a little bit misleading, as many players assume they have to start a new game+ run to unlock the fourth star feature when that really isn’t the case.
To avoid clearing your saved data with new game+ and having to start everything over again, simply revisit the missions you’ve already completed and you’ll notice the requirements for getting a fourth star will be listed when selecting the mission.
Tips For Getting Four Stars in Overcooked 2
Many players who have tried to get a fourth star gave up because of the insanely high requirements every mission has for getting it. However, that doesn’t mean getting them is impossible.

There are some tips and tricks you can use to make the process easier. For example, missions that introduce a new ingredient, such as World 1-1, have a feature where the timer doesn’t start until you serve at least one dish.
Because of this, it’s possible to first prep as much as you can so that you’re able to take advantage of the chain tip combo feature without having to waste time preparing the dish again.
Additionally, we always recommend you have three other players with you when going for a four-star run, as having six extra hands really makes the process much easier. Even though the requirement goes up if you’re playing the mission in multiplayer, this tip might sound counterproductive, just trust us.
Finally, we always recommend you serve dishes according to the order they show up at the top of the screen. While it might sound quicker to just complete orders as they’re prepared, the tip bonus you get for serving dishes in order is more than worth it.
