While they are waiting for the Hellmire defense mission to come to an end, devoted Helldivers are sharing some experiences with their community. As you probably know by now, as intense love at first sight is, sometimes you just need more time to see something (or someone) in a different light. Now, Helldivers 2 players are sharing which weapons and Stratagems they don’t regret giving a second chance.
Sometimes Helldivers Dismiss Weapons and Stratagems Too Soon
We’ve all been there, probably, when you dismiss a weapon or a Stratagem too quickly and after a while try it again and it just feels right. Maybe the devs buffed it in the meantime (probably not), or maybe something just clicked. It might even become your favorite in a very short time.
For us, it is the Tenderizer, we know that some will say it’s a basic pick, but we despised it at first. Then came that Eureka moment and we became inseparable. It’s quite hard to explain the feeling if you haven’t felt it yourself. You can try out some of the following suggestions and maybe you’ll find your new favorite.
One player, 48Dragon, suggested: “The Railgun vs bots. Was unusable for me since it sucked at downing gunships. Then they nerfed gunship thrusters and spawn rates and added the new rocket striders. The only time I mix it up is when it’s an erad (all red strategems) or a bunker mission (in Spear we trust)”.

Other Helldivers suggested entire builds that they never thought they’d like in a million years. Going outside of your comfort zone is never easy, but sometimes it’s incredibly satisfying and worth the risk.
One player, viewfan66, noted: “Ever since they stealth-buffed lasers, lasermaxxing build. Sythe, Laser Rover, Laser Cannon, Grenade Pistol for bug holes. Orbital Railcannon for heavies and Orbital Laser for large groups of chaff. It’s more effective with a friend who has the same build, you will see many lasers flying around”.
According to many players, this sneaky buff was probably the best thing to come out of the Escalation of Freedom update. HatfieldCW added: “If you have a friend, one of you takes the backpack and one takes the LasCannon, so you can bring two more Stratagems”.
SpeedyAzi was also surprised by how much they loved one Stratagem. They stated: “Machine Gun Sentry was a pick I never expected to like. But with max upgrades, it comes down in 100 seconds. You can toss it every breach for kills or toss it so far away it lures enemies to call a breach, acting as a cheap decoy”.
