After successfully finishing the previous Major Order, the players had some time to relax and catch their breath. In the meantime, the devs announced that the game would finally become available on Xbox. So, when the latest Major Order sent the Helldivers 2 community to rebuild the training facility, some players jokingly refused and called for a boycott.
What’s the Current Major Order?
As you know, the Illuminate destroyed Mars, and with it, they destroyed the Helldiver training facility. So, naturally, it’s time to rebuild. As always, a briefing arrived alongside the Major Order, and it explained all the details.
Since the size of the Helldiver force will massively increase soon, due to mandatory volunteer recruitment, there’s a great need for a Helldiver training facility. Thus, the High Command authorized its construction on Zegema Paradise. This facility will offer the same training we’ve all been through to the next generations of Helldivers.
However, this facility will need some live specimens! So, the Helldivers have to liberate a couple of planets, helping the follow-on teams to capture live specimens for the training facility. Furthermore, the breeding programs will need some Terminid Samples to allow controlled bug propagation.
So, what exactly needs to be done? Helldivers have to liberate Gar Haren and Gatria. Also, they need to collect (and extract with!) 50 million Common Samples from any planet under Terminid control. At the time of writing this article, they have around four days and six hours left, and they’re doing quite well, so far.
Why Do Some Helldivers Want to Boycott the Major Order?
Well, funnily enough, some Helldivers 2 players called for a boycott of this Major Order as a prank. Yup, with the news of this game coming to Xbox, some players thought it would be hilarious for new players not to have any training, but to have to drop directly into missions. So, there’s a running joke that the players would sabotage the construction of the training facility, just as they refused to get the AT mines, over and over again.
One player noted: “Imagine if we lost this MO and the tutorial was removed from the game. New Helldivers have to learn on the field in random games”. Another Helldiver teased: “If we fail the major order, the Xbox dudes will be getting delayed, right?”.
Now, of course, as you may see for yourself, the community has already made some great progress in the MO!
