“An Eagle Never Misses” Helldivers 2 Players Finally Praise the DSS After Getting Eagle Storm

Well, the whole DSS situation is a mess. First, it took weeks of different MOs to build and by the end of it, the majority were bored out of their minds. But then it finally happened. The Democracy Space Station is up and running. You can donate Samples and Requisition to “fuel” special planet-wide effects, such as Planetary Bombardment, Eagle Storm, or Orbital Blockade, each giving different buffs. However, things took a sudden turn as the Planetary Bombardment turned out to be a massive liability, behaving more like the Meteor showers of old, randomly hitting both enemies and Helldivers. Unsurprisingly, the players were outraged. After weeks of grinding to build the DSS, it turned out to be, well, rubbish. The devs were quick to react, offering more buffs, and giving an in-lore explanation of why the DSS behaves like that. However, not everything is grim. It turns out that Eagle Storm is actually a very good DSS action, and Helldivers 2 players offer words of praise for it.

Eagle Storm – the Best DSS Upgrade According to Helldivers 2 Players

Eagle Storm is the second “Tactical Action” that DSS can do. The effects that it grants are: “Deploys periodic Eagle Airstrikes during missions. Slows enemy progress in Defense Campaigns.”

Furthermore, you get an increased reinforcement budget, according to its in-game description: “DSS crews maintain deployment of a 24-hour rotating fleet of Eagle Fighters from the massive three-tiered Convocation Bay, supporting all Helldiver operations on the planet with close air support and slowing enemy offensives. Temporarily, also increases Reinforcement Budget by +1 per squad member.”

Players Praise the Eagle Storm

As per the players’ reports, the Eagle Storm is an absolute beast. The airstrikes are far enough away from the players and practically cause no team kills while blasting incoming patrols. “Just got off a 10, and the Eagles are CLUTCH. Eliminating enemy patrols and softening objective resistances constantly.” said Wesson626 and “[Eagle Storm] does zero team kills, eradicates patrols with one strafe, SHOWS KILL COUNT (at least to the host, haven’t tried otherwise)” added No_Importance_7016.

Others praise the cinematic feel it gives to the game, saying: “Eagle storm was the first time I actually and truly felt like there is an actual planetary battle happening beyond our little AOE, the sky is filled with jets and AA fire, the destroyers are raining down destruction and the horizon is on fire, I was fully immersed in the defense of Gaellivare.”

There are so many words of praise that we can’t cover them all. But in conclusion, kudos to Arrowhead for learning from the Planetary Bombardment mistake and quickly implementing what they learned to Eagle Storm. It just goes to show how dedicated they are to the game.
