Helldivers 2 Fans Ask the Devs to Stop Pushing Random Spawns

The player base is slowly returning to their tasks after the whole Escalation of Freedom update debacle. After ignoring the Hellmire defense mission, the players went back to the bot front for the current Major Order. Unfortunately, insistent random spawns are preventing some of the players from fully enjoying Helldivers 2.

Helldivers Really Dislike the Random Spawns

One devoted player, brom10, was shocked when a Berserker spawned right in front of them while hiding from the army of bots. This triggered the player to complain to their fellow Helldivers. They noted: “I’ve seen a lot of bad spawns before, but stuff like this is unacceptable. Just turn off random spawns and have more patrols if that’s what it takes, but this just cannot keep happening”.

Another player, KatBeagler, added: “I really wish instead of having this spawn mechanic they had all patrols spawn off the map and brought in by Dropship to whatever Rally Point their algorithm determined appropriate”. This request is something that lots of players agreed with.

What would you do if you looked to your side and a bug was just chilling there? Well, keyboardstatic experienced just that. They said: “I run up to a big bug nest my teammate is inside closing holes fighting. I crouch on the edge. I lay down covering fire killing bugs that are chasing him. As I pan my camera to the right I can see a Charger’s head. It’s right next to mine. Didn’t walk in just magically appeared along with Warriors and Hunters”.

Is There Something That Triggers the Spawns?

Some Helldivers 2 players claimed they figured out when these random spawns happen the most. One_Contribution_27 blew everyone’s mind with their observation. This player stated: “It’s interesting that they pop in at the exact instant that the host leaves the game and a new player gets made host. I wonder if switching host causes the static (non-patrol) enemies to respawn”.

Have you ever noticed this? We haven’t, but now that we think about it, this player might be right. NoddingNinja elaborated on why this idea wasn’t far-fetched. They said: “It’s probably adjusting difficulty for 2 players. The system has been told to reduce the number or change the type of enemies. Then, a bug in that workflow triggers not only a change but a deployment of the adjusted group onto the map”.

Other players pointed out a closely related problem – the omniscient enemies. Primary_Jellyfish327 reported: “Not only that, I tried to do a stealth mission by myself and had the stealthy armor. These mf know where I was every time. Like they kept chasing me even behind hills and mountains even when I killed all of them or I got near a patrol they would instantly change direction towards me”.

So, dear hosts, for the love of everything, don’t leave your Helldivers on their own unless you absolutely have to. The one thing that we appreciate the most is the camaraderie and the community itself, so when you can, help out your fellow divers at least by sticking around. For Managed Democracy and Super Earth.
