You can never have enough Super Credits. And it looks like PlayStation users have an exclusive way of getting some extra Super Credits for Helldivers 2, via a special Loyalty Program.
In Helldivers 2, Super Credits are used to purchase stuff from the Superstore and, more importantly, to unlock Warbonds. You can say that they are practically essential for all players, to keep things interesting. Thankfully, you can farm those Super Credits during missions, but it is a bit of a slow process. If you don’t want to bother with farming, you can purchase them with real money. To top it all off, PlayStation has a special Loyalty Program, allowing you to get your hands on some super credits, using PS’s special currency.
PlayStation Users Can Use PS Stars To Get Super Credits for Helldivers 2
PlayStation has a special Loyalty Program called PlayStation Stars, where members collect Points which they can use to redeem special rewards. Those Points can be redeemed in the “Rewards Catalog for available items that may include Digital Collectibles, select game titles, and more.” One of those rewards are the Super Credit bundles (as well as similar rewards for other games that you play).
How to Get Stars Points and Use Them to Get Super Credits
Naturally, PS Stars is only available to PS users. It is free to join, and you can do so via the Stars website. “By joining PlayStation Stars, you can use your gaming skills to collect unique Digital Collectibles and earn rewards.” You can get Points by:
- Completing monthly Campaigns – “Take part in activities and challenges laid down for the PlayStation community, such as in-game activities, online tournaments or exploring your console features.”
- Complete custom Campaigns – “Unlock Digital Collectibles by completing custom Campaigns designed just for you, based on the games you like to play.”
- Shopping in PlayStation Store – “PlayStation Plus members earn Points for Eligible Purchases on PlayStation Store, such as games and add-ons. Points can then be exchanged in your Rewards Catalog.”
As per the official website: “A Campaign is a set of objectives that you can complete to earn a specified reward. Depending on the objective(s) involved, the reward may be either a Digital Collectible or Points. Campaigns will have a wide range of activities: exploring overlooked game areas, playing with friends, competing in global tournaments, mastering new console features, and knowledge-testing puzzles, among others.”
Once you sign up to PS Stars and get some Points, head on to the Rewards Catalog in the app and look for Helldivers 2 Super Credits bundles. For example, you can get:
- 375 Super Credits for 1250 Points
- 1000 Super Credits for 2500 Points
- 2100 Super Credits for 5000 Points
You can also use these points for other similar purchases, like upgrading to the Super Citizen Edition (at the cost of 2500 Points).
How to Best Use the PlayStatio Stars App To Get The Most Super Credits for Helldivers 2?
Sure, you can simply use the Points to get Super Credits, but as one player noticed, there is a better way. Reddit user named Soul_Phoenix_42 shared how to make the most out of this.
“Assuming pricing in other countries is similar to the UK, you get more value using the star points to claim the £5 PSN vouchers they offer and using those to purchase super credits instead…
Claiming two £5 PSN vouchers cost the same amount of star points (2,500) as claiming 1000 super credits does. But purchasing a pack of 1000 super credits like normal with money/PSN credit only cost £8… so you’ll end up with £2 credit left over for the same amount of star points.
I think doing it this way also means that the purchase of super credits via the psn credit rewards you with more star points again, just like any other purchase. Whereas claiming them directly with the star points won’t.”
A big thanks to Soul_Phoenix_42 for sharing this, and an even bigger thanks to captinshitler for bringing our attention to PlayStation Stars in the first place. Examplary servants od Democracy, both of them!
