The biggest update since the release of the game is just around the corner. The players have very high expectations and they are looking forward to facing some new enemies, as well as some major QoL improvements. Now, some leaks have turned the entire Helldivers 2 community upside-down, as they suggest the release date of the Illuminate might be closer than the players think.
Some Leaks Share Possible First Look at the Illuminate
One account on X, IronsS1ghts, specializes in Helldivers 2 leaks and they shared all the information on the Illuminate they had supposedly found. This account shared: “(Leak) The Illuminate are Observing”. Alongside they posted a picture featuring the Observer.
Speaking of the Observer, the aforementioned account offered some more information on this unit of the Illuminate. They explained: “The Observer is overall a generally small unit, being only around .9 meters wide and 2.3 meters long. It seems to be very agile in combat”.
IronS1ghts also talked about “Guy”, which could probably be the mid-unit of the Illuminate. They stated: “The illuminate “Guy” is a mid-tier unit, using the Lightspear and Axe as his main weapons. He is able to dodge, and use various combos with the weapons”. They also shared a photo render of “Guy”.
Helldivers Suggest a Potential Release Date for the Illuminate?
Obviously, the community is over the moon with excitement over the new information. Only one question is left unanswered by the latest leaks – when is the release date of the Illuminate in Helldivers 2? Many players are hopeful that the Illuminate will arrive on August 6, but could that actually happen?
One Redditor, light_no_fire, suggested: “I’m not OP but personally I’d expect them a wee way away. We are getting a huge content drop with at least 2 new enemies per faction, but I’m going to assume there will be more. Not to mention the harder difficulty with these new enemies”.
IronS1ghts confirmed: “Yeah… that’s how I’m starting to feel about it now. While the Illuminate themselves may be close to completion, the devs still seem to have a lot planned until the Illuminate. It may still be a while longer until we fully see them”.
Another player, nakais_world_tour, had a particular date on their mind. They proposed: “Personally I see them arriving on Liberty Day which is October 26th. Arrowhead dropped big annual updates on Liberty Day back when they were still updating Helldivers 1. So it stands to reason they’ll do the same with Helldivers 2”.
So, be patient, as only time will tell when you’ll get the opportunity to face the Squids. Maybe that’ll be as soon as August 6, maybe it’ll be in October or even later. The important thing is that they are most likely coming, so we all have something very cool to look forward to.
