Helldivers 2 players have had a long couple of weeks. The community has had trouble reaching an agreement on several topics, such as tactics, or prioritizing Personal Order over Major Order. Maybe they were just overwhelmed by a new biome or a constant threat of a new enemy faction. But, the one thing that unified the Helldivers 2 players was the disappointment with one broken weapon which received a fix on June 25 in a long-expected hotfix.
The Helldivers 2 Hotfix Solved Some Problems, But Not All
One of Helldivers 2 Community Managers, Baskinator, shared an announcement on Discord. It read: “Support incoming! We have issued a hotfix for players that includes stability fixes, a crash fix for the FAF-14 Spear, and more”.
The patch notes revealed all the new fixes. One of the prominent ones was: “Fixed Peak Physique armor passive not properly affecting weapon ergonomics: time to test”. Unfortunately, the players were quick to notice that something wasn’t exactly right. GabrielDidit said: “I keep crashing I give up”.
PressureCereal added another complaint. They said: “Superior Packing Methodology still not fixed. Bummer”. Drago235 advised: “For now, enjoy running Supply Pack builds. If you are wearing a supply pack and hit a resupply, it gives you the ammo and stims as well as filling one of your empty supply pack slots. You basically get to double dip”.
Players’ Day Just Got Better
Well, at the very least, there seems to be some good news as well. The aforementioned Helldivers 2 weapon, the FAF-14 Spear, seems to have received the much-needed fix with this unscheduled hotfix. Just as a reminder, the players kept reporting it for crashing their entire games when used. Now, the Spear users will be able to use their beloved weapon without a hitch.
One player, amiro7600, shared their worries with the community. They said: “My fingers have been crossed since I heard the news of the hotfix yesterday. I love the spear, especially after its recent fixes, but this crashing stuff made me really sad that I couldn’t use it”. Thankfully, the other players were there to confirm the fan-favorite Spear could be used again.
RonZinn testified: “I just finished a round, successfully shot off 9 rounds with the Spear—no problems at all”. Another player, slycyboi, added: “It really is working now. It’s so good now it doesn’t crash your game when you use it. I demonstrated that capability today to some players unaware of it. They were floored by the four minutes it took to destroy all the bunkers. Would’ve been quicker without gunships trying to crash the party”.
So, some good news for the Helldivers! Of course, the developers are working on the game continuously. They obviously take the reported problems seriously, so we can all hope for a great future. We have no doubts that all the problems will be solved, one at a time. Take into consideration that solving one problem might create another one, so don’t take the crashes and the bugs too seriously. Unless the bugs are Terminids, then show them some democracy.
