Everything You Need to Know About the Freshly Announced Warbond Token for Helldivers 2

We love seeing a game evolve! Arrowhead has been doing an amazing job with Helldivers 2, especially in recent months. Not only is the content coming out in well-timed intervals, but the devs pay attention to tiny details that could improve the players’ experience. The Helldivers 2 players truly appreciated Arrowhead’s latest announcement, which introduced a new term, Warbond Token. So, what are these Warbond Tokens, and where can you get one?

What Is a Warbond Token?

On July 2, the devs announced the Warbond Token on the official Helldivers 2 X profile. The devs explained they were listening to the players’ input and decided to switch things up with the Helldivers 2 editions.

They noted: “We’re introducing the Warbond Token! It will allow players who purchase the HELLDIVERS 2: Super Citizen Edition or HELLDIVERS 2: Super Citizen Edition Upgrade to unlock any Premium Warbond released in HELLDIVERS 2. The Warbond Token will replace the ‘Steeled Veterans Warbond’ within both special editions. We will be introducing the new token into these two editions on August 26th, 2025”.

So, how will the new token work? Katherine Baskin, aka Baskinator, the Community Manager, explained all the details in a blog. Basically, the devs decided to replace the Steeled Veterans Warbond with a Warbond Token, as many players had acquired the aforementioned Warbond before upgrading to Super Citizen editions.

Previously, the Zen Desk, the Arrowhead support team, would reimburse 1000 SC to the players who contacted them over this “issue”. The Warbond Token will lighten the load on the Zen Desk and allow the players to choose for themselves.

And, yes, you’ll only be able to get the Warbond Token as a part of the Super Citizen Edition or the Super Citizen Edition Upgrade. Baskinator explained what the redemption process would look like once you have bought either of these editions (post August 26).

The token should automatically appear in your inventory the next time you log in. Baskinator noted: “To use the token, click ‘Claim Premium Warbond’. A ‘Confirm Purchase’ prompt will appear. Confirm it to unlock the selected Premium Warbond”.

Helldivers 2 Players Love the Token Idea

Obviously, this is a great idea, but it also shows how deeply Arrowhead cares about the players’ experience. Helldivers gladly expressed their gratitude to the devs and praised Arrowhead for the lovely idea.

Jourden Reid raved: “Technically, you guys were always doing this, we just had to reach out to customer service and ask for a refund on the super credits if we purchased the Steeled Veterans Warbond before upgrading. Thanks for the great customer service”.

Some even suggested introducing the possibility of gifting your friends a Warbond Token. Captain Doombeard stated: “Suggest you allow us to buy and gift these tokens, as there are some friends I’d like to boost”. Many Helldivers loved this idea.
