Helldivers 2 Community Organizes a Mini Order on the Automaton Front

With the week-long Major Order successfully completed and with the new Stratagem ready to use, some devoted Helldivers are taking matters into their own hands. At the time of writing this article, the Helldivers 2 players are between Major Orders and they have decided to create an affectionately-called Mini Order to fight the Automaton forces.

A Mini Order Sends the Helldivers to the Automaton Front

The idea came from Discord, but it quickly snowballed all over the Helldivers 2 social media. A Redditor, bdwin120, conveyed a message: “A game plan to coordinate on the Automaton front, while we wait for the next Major Order (or to continue coordination should the next MO be on the bug front). Begin with: Matar Bay (0.75%/h regen rate), followed by Marfark, Aesir Pass (and its SEAF facilities), and Vernen Wells”.

This player explained: “This plan capitalizes on the recently defended planets in the Ymir sector and if it succeeds should cut the Automaton front in half, and out of contact with Cyberstan”. One Discord user, Admiral | SES Patriot Of Peace | even made a Mini Order image to resemble the Major Orders. They named the operation “Steel Cutter”.

Most players were super excited by this community effort. One of them, ginger_barbarian, noted: “Let the Matar Bay Offensive commence. This Mini Order will live on in Helldivers 2 lore”. Uneducational_One420 added: “Matar Bay is the lowest regen rate on any planet and is a vital part of Cyberstan”.

PurpleBatDragon explained how this Mini Order could work. They said: “If we can coordinate like this even a little, then players who don’t know about it might go for the planets with the most players.  Mob mentality can work!  We will show the naysayers the true might of the Helldivers corps”.

Some Player Don’t Believe a Mini Order Could Succeed

Well, as you might have expected, some Helldivers 2 players thought the Mini Order on the Automaton front was doomed. One of them, atheos013, said: “Most players don’t care about the risk game unless the story/MO is involved. Doubt you’ll get enough on this, especially on the bot side. You’re already the minority of the player base”.

Another player, hellothisismadlad, agreed: “Yeah good luck with this. The only community-coordinated attack that succeeded was the Draupnir campaign which took 2 weeks to complete. The rest of the community-coordinated attacks will always be wasting resources. Since you know, when MO comes, everyone will shift away and liberation will go down indefinitely”.

Some players were just glad that the community was working together. CptBickDalls reported: “Even if we don’t get anywhere, I genuinely appreciate this. I’ve been looking for a good bot drop and thinking how we need some sort of community direction to get anywhere”.

Honestly, the community is a huge part of Helldivers 2 and we love seeing it in action. We sincerely hope this Mini Order will gain some traction because fighting the bots with the new Stratagem is very fun. Of course, we have to be realistic and acknowledge that the upcoming Major Order will take away the players from the Mini Order. So, use this opportunity and go spread some democracy on the bot front while you can.
