At some point, we’ve all been beginners, there is nothing shameful about it, we all have to start somewhere! The great thing about this community is the fact that you can always get all the support you need. We are often surprised by how tight-knit and supportive the Helldivers 2 community is, especially when it comes to helping out the rookies and giving them some much-needed tips.

You Can Lean on the Helldivers 2 Community

The latest update gave the players lots of buffs, and above all, it gave players hope for a bright future. This caused a huge peak in the number of players, as many veterans returned. Also, many new players joined, due to the hype over the update.

Now, remember your first couple of weeks in Helldivers 2. It was chaotic, trying to remember combinations, collecting all the Samples, and understanding all the lore quirks. Not to mention trying to understand who the Chaosdivers are. It’s… a lot for one person to comprehend all that in a relatively short period.

That’s where the community comes into play. The most devoted players always gladly offer advice. So, when a rookie, Tricky_Ad_5720, asked for help, they delivered. Given that this game has changed quite a lot since its launch, these pieces of advice might come in handy for returning players, as well.

Great Tips That Will Help Both Rookies and More Experienced Helldivers

Many Helldivers 2 players contributed with their favorite tips for rookies. Some of these are quite obvious, but others could be useful even to much more experienced players, honestly.

One player, fab977 made a compilation of all the best pieces of advice. Let’s start at the end, of the mission, of course. When you see players drop Samples at the extract, don’t move them / pick them up, they put them there for easier access during departure. Also, always wait for the rest of your team to join you before you board Pelican-1 for extraction, as the timer starts when the first player enters.

When it comes to the enemy factions, this player advised: “Cover is key for Automatons. Distance and kiting for Terminids”. Also, don’t be afraid of big booms, enjoy them. If you are unsure what you should do, don’t hesitate to ask, your team members will gladly help. And, there is no shame in dying, happens to everyone, it’s part of the game. Closely related: “Reinforce fallen teammates quickly UNLESS they died far away from you and someone else is closer or you are in a lot of trouble yourself”.

Of course, there are some more obscure tips, as well. If you’re on fire, you should dive, and the fire will be extinguished. If you are falling from a great height, try emoting, as you’ll probably survive without a scratch. Also, some Helldivers managed to “fly” by spamming the emote button, so you can also try that out.

The biggest tip that we can give you is to enjoy yourself and ask for help when you need to. Try out as many weapons as you can and find what suits you. Try not to exclusively play bugs or bots, as that takes away 50% of the game. Also, always remember, we’re in this war together, for Super Earth and Liberty.
