This is why we love this community. It’s been just over a year since the Helldivers chose to save the children in a trolley problem Major Order. When the players completed the MO, Arrowhead CCO, Johan Pilestedt, announced that the company made a charitable donation in the name of Helldivers. This remains one of the most heartwarming moments in the history of this game, and even J.O.E.L remembers it fondly. Well, the players have outdone themselves. To mark the anniversary, Freedom Alliance (known for numerous community events) cooperated with the Helldivers 2 devs, and they made a fundraiser for Save the Children.
How to Participate in the Save the Children Fundraiser?
Freedom Alliance organized the Heroes event, which aims to collect funds for one of the most famous charity organizations in the world. They posted all the information on the official site.
They noted: “One year after the Helldivers saved the children at Vernen Wells, it’s time to do it again. Join the Freedom Alliance and Arrowhead in a charity event supporting Save The Children. Starting June 24th, Donate & bid on one-of-a-kind items”. As always, Freedom Alliance dropped an amazing trailer for their event.
So, first things first! The event started on June 24 and it lasts until June 28. You can either donate here or bid on one of the unique items that the Arrowhead devs prepared here. Helldivers 2 Devs Fully Support the Fundraiser Hosted by Freedom Alliance
We’ve been on the internet long enough to recognize legit fundraisers. So, you can freely participate in the Save the Children fundraiser, as Freedom Alliance received full support from Helldivers 2 devs. In other words, this event was organized with some help from Arrowhead; it isn’t just an organization trying to use a game’s popularity.
Baskinator, the CM at Arrowhead, shared a message of support on the official Discord server. She noted: “We want to spread the word about something incredible that we know you’ll want to take part in. Our friends, the Freedom Alliance, have joined up with Save the Children to host a charity auction starting NOW until June 28! Save the Children is the same charity that we donated to last year, and we’re so excited that FA is carrying the torch that we decided to donate some original artwork and autographed items to the auction! Bid on these cool items, donate to Save the Children, and spread kindness across the galaxy”.
At the time of writing this article, around an hour since the fundraiser began, the donations are already over $8k, and the auction items are valued at just over $6k. So, dear Helldiver, if you wish to join, please do! Either way, we’re waiting for you on the Squid front with some freshly balanced Leviathans. Let’s try to complete the current Major Order.
