It seems that the developers, now traditionally, managed to sneak in some changes that weren’t mentioned in the patch notes for the most recent update. Given the sheer number of buffs and changes in the latest patch, it isn’t surprising that it took the players a couple of days to notice another Stratagem had received a makeover. Some Helldivers 2 players insist that the developers gave a secret buff to Anti-Tank Mines.
Helldivers Claim the Devs Gave a Secret Buff to a Stratagem
Amid the chaos and the excitement over the latest Warbond and the incredibly fun Major Order, one devoted player noticed the Anti-Tank Mines felt different. VividNightmare_ took to Reddit to share their discovery and get confirmation from the community. This player stated: “Anti-tank mines were BUFFED. They forgot to include it”.
Now, the OP didn’t share the source for the following stats, so take them with a grain of salt. Even though we aren’t AT Mines enthusiasts, we’ve tried them out and they do feel quite differently, so something was changed.
According to the OP: “Explosion damage decreased from 1000 to 800. Demolition force increased from 30 to 40. Stagger force increased from 30 to 50. The inner radius increased from 1,2m to 5m. The outer radius increased from 6m to 10m. The Shockwave radius increased from 9m to 14m”.
Did the Helldivers 2 Developers Perfect the Anti-Tank Mines?
Several Helldivers 2 players confirmed that the Anti-Tank Mines did receive some sort of a secret buff. We can’t imagine how surprising it was to discover these changes, but still, the community welcomed the buff.
TheRealShortYeti noted: “I knew it. I tried them for fun in a 6 and they were doing work. The explosion is louder and feels like a 380 but with a slightly smaller explosion animation”. Another player, WillSym, added: “I thought they felt beefier! Also maybe new audio, bigger boom noises? Not sure, I only used them like twice previously where I could actually see the explosions”.
However, one glaring issue persists, the AT Mines are still triggered by literally everything. Win32error stated: “Buffing it is nice but in order to do what it’s meant it really needs to get that weight trigger. Or just change the name to heavy mine and include an actual AT Mine later if it’s difficult to implement”.
Since the latest update was great, we’re sure the developers are already working on some big changes for the next one, maybe even a weight trigger for the AT Mines. Until the next update, enjoy this one, who knows, maybe you discover another secret buff. For Super Earth and Managed Democracy.
