Ever since the Illuminate arrived with the Omens of Tyranny update, the players have been wondering about the surprisingly low diversity of the Illuminate units. Sure, the main theory is that this is only the vanguard. So, the next question would have to be where is the rest of them? The latest leaks show projectiles of one Illuminate unit from the first installment are in Helldivers 2 files, meaning that this unit is most likely returning.
Leaks Suggest the Illuminate Will Get Some Backup
One very prolific leaker, IronS1ghts, has already shared some of the Illuminate units that are in the works. This time, the leaker shared the projectiles of one very interesting unit from the first installment of the game. The OP noted: “(Leak) Illusionist Droid-Ball Projectile. The Illusionist from Helldivers 1 will be returning, this is one of their projectiles”.
The leaker posted the video of Droid-Ball projectiles alongside this announcement. In it, a Helldiver is seen shooting Droid-Ball projectiles into the night. The leaker added: “Pretty inconsistent, but it looks like it has a % chance to “Split” into other projectiles”. The contrast between the dark of the night and the shiny projectile is simply amazing. However, we can’t help but worry about being shot by the Illusionist.
Helldivers 2 players were also astounded by these leaks and the look of the projectile of another Illuminate unit. Mr. Essex noted: “What’s really amazing is that all this isn’t magic, we just think it is. Illuminate technology is just incredibly advanced to the extent it resembles magic”.
When Should Helldivers Expect This Illuminate Unit?
As of the time of writing this article, there haven’t been any official announcements of new Illuminate units. Many players were hoping for a Christmas miracle, and they sort of got one.
After completing the previous Major Order, a briefing arrived. Helldivers finally have confirmation that the black hole is actually a wormhole. There’s no way of telling what will emerge from the wormhole, but players presume it will be the rest of the Illuminate. The majority of players hope there will be a Special Event soon, as some leaks found evidence of one in the files.
As for now, enjoy the holidays, dear Helldiver. The Festival of Reckoning and the Major Order are in progress, the time is perfect for some slow-paced missions. For Liberty and Super Earth.
