Have you noticed that even though they should be doing great in the current Major Order, the players are somehow struggling? All the buffs in the world don’t seem to help them liberate more planets. The most devoted Helldivers 2 players claim the reason for this struggle is the lack of data on the Galactic map, causing the players to fight losing battles.
Why Are the Helldivers 2 Players Failing the Major Order?
The Helldivers 2 community is in a real bind. The player count hasn’t been this high in months, Helldivers have a new Warbond and countless buffs, but still, they are somehow falling. The current Major Order is somewhat different than what the players are used to. In order to succeed, Helldivers have to coordinate and join forces. The problem is that the players are working together, but still, there is no progress.
If you’ve been playing Helldivers 2 for a while, you’ve probably heard the terms “decay rate” and “liberation progress”. However, nowhere in the game can you find these terms, or their values. Some third-party sites and apps (DiversHub, War Monitor) offer these details that help explain why we are failing spectacularly.
At the time of writing this article, Helldivers have been fighting on Pandion-XXIV for at least a day and they haven’t made any progress, at all. More than 14k divers are on the planet, but still, the planet is less than 0,01% liberated. This is because the “decay rate” is at -3%, meaning that the bugs push back more than what the divers liberate (in this example, Helldivers liberate 2,49% of the planet per hour). Making the “liberation rate” -0,51% per hour, meaning that the divers will soon lose whatever they did manage to liberate.
Now, an example of Helldivers choosing a “good” planet to liberate is Trandor. With the “decay rate” of -0,5%, and the players’ progress of 3,3%, the liberation rate is at a much more palatable 2,8% per hour. Still, considering that none of these rates are displayed in the game and that the majority of players don’t consult third-party apps and sites, this choice was probably coincidental.
Helldivers Are Begging Devs to Add More Data to the Galactic Map
Pandion-XXIV has been a wake-up call for many players. In a plea similar to the one made about the Supply Lines, Helldivers 2 players are insisting that there needs to be more data on the Galactic map.
Internal_Ad_4586 noted: “Please Arrowhead. Give more info on how to coordinate attacks on the Galactic War Map. It would make the meta game a helluva lot more interesting and people might actually start going to the best planets”.
Horror-Tank-4082 added: “Part of the current division issue is that information isn’t provided in-game so divers are working from completely different sets of info. I met some guys in the game yesterday who were shocked to learn about Pandion’s decay”.
So, if you were thinking of joining your fellow divers on Pandion-XXIV, we’d suggest you reconsider and go to Trandor, for example. We know that after a long day, it can be annoying to check where to dive first, but still, it’s way less annoying than fighting for hours with no progress. We’ll meet you there, with our beloved Thermite grenades. For Liberty and Super Earth.
