Fortnite is famous for its sheer number of skins, especially with all its collaborations with various franchises over the years. Many players prefer taking their favorite character for a spin in Fortnite, be it one of the Ninja Turtles, Alan Wake, Avatar Aang, or Spider-Man. The in-game store rotates its selection so if you missed out on an Outfit, chances are it will appear once again somewhere in the future. But, players noticed that skins belonging to a particular group haven’t been seen for a while now. We are referring to DC skins.
The Last DC Skin Appeared More Than 200 Days Ago
That’s right, the last two DC x Fortnite skins were seen 249 days ago. It was The Flash and The Batman Who laughs. After that, no DC skins have made an appearance in the shop, and a lot of fans are wondering why is that. Fortnite has a lot of DC skins (24 to be exact) so it stands to reason that players would love some more opportunities to get them. What is going on here?
Fans Blame Warner Brothers
The widely-accepted reasoning behind all of this, by the Fortnite community, is that Warner Brothers, who own the rights to DC, is responsible for pulling all the skins from the game. In one Reddit post, the fans discuss this situation, and the majority is of the same mind. User guiso_de_pollo said: “Warner Brothers is making bad choices that include not making more collabs with Fortnite, that means Epic cant sell them anymore.“ while Digitarch added: “Warner Bros. went to [heck] and also Epic signed a billion dollar deal with their primary competitor. DC in Fortnite might actually be dead.”
Is Muliversus Responsible for This?
Furthermore, some players say that Multiversus is to blame. Allegedly, WB pulled all of their skins from the game, DC included, so they can only exist in their own game. User MonkeyDLenny stated: “Multiversus happened. You can trace a line to the release of that game (The first time it released anyway) to the disappearance of DC/Warner Bros. skins in general. Seemingly WB wants nothing to do with Fortnite anymore now that they have their own live service game which they seem to think is their competition with Fortnite.”
That makes a lot of sense and mr_anonymous7767 added: “Thats what I’ve heard too, which is so stupid because multiverses is a completely different genre of video game, so I really doubt it would have any competition with Fortnite.”
In conclusion, we think that pulling all their skins from Fortnite was not the best move by Warner Brothers. They can only profit from having their IP in Epic’s most popular game, as thousands of player would like to get their hands on some DC skins from time to time.
