It’s safe to say that it sucks if your account happens to get hacked. No one wants that to happen to them. And even if you get it back, there’s that sour feeling that your online space has been invaded. One Fortnite player shared a story about his account being hacked and then managing to return it after over a year, with some astonishing findings.
Hacked Fortnite Account Recovered With Surprising Results
The player that goes by MathematicianGreat95 on Reddit has shared an amazing story about his hacked Fortnite account. The account was hacked about a year and 7 months before recovery (as corrected by OP, instead of 7 months from the title), and the player simply took a break and later made a new one.
Admitting to only being a casual player, he didn’t pay too much mind to recover it immediately. However, the original account had Save the World purchased on it, and for that reason, he later decided to start the recovery process, rather than buying it all over again.
The player had all the receipts, so it took only a couple of days for Epic to restore the account to its owner. Upon logging into the now-restored Fortnite account, he noticed quite a lot has changed. Save the World was maxed out, and farmed to its fullest. But that was just the start. He had skins, battle passes, and 30,290 V-Bucks.
As the top comment puts it succinctly “Bro is literally blessed”. The OP admitted to not being interested in so many V-Bucks, planning to gift them to his more active friends. This, of course, started a hilarious avalanche of comments proclaiming to be one of OP’s friends.
As many commenters have pointed out, there is no explanation why the need to hack an account that is already free to make. But sometimes people online just want to see if they could do it, and nothing else.
Fortunately, the OP had the common sense to check all of the receipts, and nothing on the account was bought using his credentials. However, this makes you wonder why even invest this much into a stolen account, to begin with. Sure, a lot of the V-Bucks was earned from StW farming, but that can’t account for all of it.
Altogether, it’s an interesting story that fortunately has a happy ending. But it makes you think about hundreds of accounts that get hacked and sometimes recovered with much less happy outcomes. It’s one more reason to enable Two-Factor Authorization on your Fortnite accounts.
