Every day we inch closer to the end of Chapter 5 and the beginning of Chapter 6. The last Season of Chapter 5, is titled Absolute Doom and revolves around Marvel comics. We got a lot of themed skins, like Gwenpool, Deadpool, Wolverine, and some other X-Men, like Cyclops or Jane Frost. We’re expected to get a new OG Fortnite season, which will be the last event in Chapter 5. Now, some leakers have discovered tidbits concerning the end of Season 5.
An Hours-Long Event Will Herald the Beginning of Chapter 6
A couple of respected leakers, Egyptian_Leaker and Loolo_WRLD (and later Hypex and Shiina) posted that the next Live Event will go live when OG Fortnite Season 2. It will be another “Black Hole” event that will show teasers for Chapter 6. The usual “Exit” button will double as a countdown timer, counting the minutes until Chapter 6 officially goes live.
It’s not much, but it is enough to get the hype going.
Players Have Mixed Feelings Towards This Event
Everyone loves live events if they are done properly. The news that the next “live” event will be simply staring into a black hole had a lukewarm reception. As one player said: “I wish they’d do some like interactive thing when they do stuff like that where teasers or clues can actually be viewed through the game”. More players agree, with comments like “We’ve had like 5 of these…” and “It’s not even special anymore, just an annual thing” appearing now and then.
On the other hand, players are looking forward to the new Chapter, but are kinda sick of all the collabs we had recently. VBeldovski said: “Ok, not bad, thats def better than last one, but still, please dont have 100% of the actual event be collabs” and Its_JustTurk added: ”Epic just don’t care about live events anymore unless they’re collabs”.
As for Chapter 6, rumors state that its codename is “FirePetal” and that it will include different bosses, wandering bosses, swinging, rappelling, and more. Sounds pretty fun and we hope more info will be revealed down the line.
