Fortnite How to Slide Across a Vehicle

Sliding across vehicles has been the staple of action movies since forever. There is nothing cooler than sliding across the hood of a car to get into cover, with bullets flying all around you. Thankfully, Fortnite has the option to do so, and it is even a requirement for one of the Chapter 5 Season 3 quests. But, doing so may seem a bit tricky at first, so read this article to see how to slide across a vehicle in Fortnite. 

How to Slide Across a Vehicle in Fortnite

To slide access the vehicle, follow these simple steps:

• First, find a vehicle in-game. We recommend you find a car, as vans can be trickier for this, due to their height.
• OPTIONAL: Drive it somewhere safe, so that your sliding attempts won’t be interrupted by enemies trying to eliminate you.
• Next, start Sprinting from far enough away and time your Jump so that you land on the top of the car.
• As soon as you land on the car, press Crouch to slide. If you timed everything right, this should slide you across the vehicle (and complete the Week 7 Quest).

We found that cars with “flatter” roofs work the best for this. You do not have to slide over the hood of the car, the roof will do just fine. Note that vehicle upgrades, especially those that add stuff on the roof of the car, may get in the way of your sliding. So it is recommended that you try doing this on unupgraded, “basic” vehicles. 

Why Should You Slide Across a Vehicle?

Sliding across a vehicle offers no in-game benefits, except for maybe getting you safely behind it, for cover. However, it is one of the Chapter 5 Season 3 Week 7 quests. Doing it will grant you 15k XP points. Other than that, it just looks cool, and that’s a reward in itself.
