It is a fact that, along with skins, Emotes are the most popular cosmetic in Fortnite. They range from homages to popular movies and dances, all the way to original moves (usually silly). Epic Games take inspiration from anywhere they can and usually follow trends to stay on top of what’s popular. On that last note, players had a hilarious idea of turning a recent internet sensation into a Fortnite Emote.
Players Want Australia’s Olympic Breakdance Performance as a Dance
It was just a matter of time. The famous breakdance performance went viral after the Olympics, and it’s expected that Fortnite players want it in their favorite game. For the record, on August 9, 2024, a breakdancer from Australia, Rachael Gunn (competing under the name “Raygun”), gave a performance that wasn’t received that well by the judges but went viral after that.
It has been photoshopped, meme’d, and edited into videos thousands of times since then, and the trend continues. As you’d expect, Fortnite players joined in on the fun and now ask for this viral dance to be added as a Fortnite Emote.
One player jokingly suggested it in a Reddit post, and the idea took off. User Dead-End-Slime said: “Hate to tell you this but I would absolutely buy this. Instantly hitting it after every undeserved win lmao” and toomanyredbulls added: “As someone who doesn’t care at all about things like this in the game, I won’t lie, instant purchase.“ A lot more comments follow suit, stating that this would be a hilarious addition to Fortnite.
Will This Emote Ever Be Made?
While we can’t know for certain, turning Raygun’s dance into a Fortnite Emote would require a lot of legal procedures. First and foremost, Epic would have to approach Rachel Gunn directly and ask for permission. Given how the dance itself was received, we doubt that Gunn would be too happy about it. On the other hand, she may be a real sport and give her permission, just for the fun of it. What we know is that it would sell like crazy.
