Fortnite Fans Devastated as Their Favourite Pickaxe Still Hasn’t Been Fixed

Fortnite fans are pleading with Epic Games to fix the Skull Sickle harvesting tool, which they claim has been ‘visually broken’ ever since Chapter 2 launched. For those new to the game, axes come in different shapes and sizes, ranging from energy pickaxes to tools based on Japanese Katanas.

The Skull Sickle, an Epic harvesting tool in the game first introduced in Season 6, quickly became one of the most popular tools in the game – garnering praise for its stunning appearance thanks to its glowing, shiny material.

However, since Chapter 2 launch, some gamers are complaining the striking blue and green styles no longer have the attractive glowing effect, and instead have been replaced by more flat colours. Epic Games is yet to fix this visual quirk, and some gamers are surprised refunds have not been offered.

One gamer said on a Fortnite sub-Reddit: “I’ve accepted they’ll never fix it at this point… it’s really such a shame, this was my favorite pickaxe when it first came out… clean design and amazing sound effects…”

Another added: “The triangular grid was a big part of Fortnite’s style. It’s a real shame they replaced with with a solid blue background with a light.” While one other gamer replied: “Same here, I really enjoyed using it. it’s quite expensive too, it’s a shame that epic isn’t doing anything about it..”

There has been no confirmation yet that Epic Games will be ‘fixing’ the axe, although we are hopeful that eventually be picked up. You’re also able to report a bug in Fortnite on their dedicated website, so if this is something you want fixed, we would recommend heading over there and highlighting it also. On the plus side, it’s not all bad news. Epic recently brought back one of the rarest skins in Fortnite.

Skull Trooper (a skin that’s in the same set as the Skull Sickle pickaxe) had a similar issue. At one point, Epic ADDED glow to him (his eyes), which players didn’t like and asked Epic to remove it. Epic eventually fixed this problem by adding glow as an additional style. So there is a glimmer of hope
