It looks like it’s finally happening. Fortnite is officially coming to iOS. After years of back-and-forth discussions, it seems that Epic and Apple finally made an agreement and Fortnite is coming back to iPhone and other iOS devices. It was removed in 2020 due to some disagreements and since then the two companies have been trying to come to a mutual understanding. And the wait is finally over, and what better way to celebrate it than by gifting a highly-anticipated skin to the players?
European Players Can Get Katalina For Free on Their Mobile Devices
According to respectable leakers, HYPEX and SpushFNBR, Katalina skin will be available in Season 4 for free for all EU players who finish certain in-game Quests. But that is not all, because it looks like all of her accompanying cosmetics will also be there, plus some neat stuff for Rocket League and Fall Guys. As for Fortnite, it looks like we are able to get the following:
- Katalina Outfit
- Katalina’s Kit Bag Back Bling
- Kat Claws Pickaxe
- Tactical Cat Weapon Wrap
- Yeetus Hammer Pickaxe
Again, all of these items will only be available if you finish those quests on your mobile phone (both Android and iOS), and only for European servers. Still no word on if that means the whole of Europe or just countries that are a part of the European Union. All we get are mentions of EU, which can be an abbreviation of both the European Union and Europe as a whole. The “promotion” will last until November 2, after which all players (globally) will be able to get Katalina from the in-game Shop, as usual.
EU Players Are Delighted, the Rest? Not So Much
As you’d expect, the European players are ecstatic about this. Katalina was announced in Chapter 5 Season 3, so the players have been waiting for a whole season to get this pawesome skin.
On the other hand, non-EU players are a bit miffed with all of this. You get comments like: “We will not be buying as if EU gets the skin for free so should everyone else” and “So us players have to wait till the 2nd and then have to but it all? That don’t seem fair, US has mobile players too”. One player even claims that people may quit Fortnite because of this.
We understand that non-EU players want this skin as well, but threatening to quit the game if a certain group gets the skin for free and the rest have to pay is maybe a bit too much. EU players are getting Fortnite on iOS and Epic is celebrating it by giving them a free skin. We expect that when the US and the rest of the world get Fortnite on iOS, they will get a free goodie as well. We should be celebrating each other’s victories, not getting green with envy.
