The best part is that there’s cover everywhere. If you want to push further, you can aim to take down Highcard and loot his Havoc Suppressed Rifle and Vault Keycard. The options are endless in Mega City.
2. Rumble Ruins
This new POI has quickly risen in popularity as one of the best landing spots. As one of the best spots, you can expect to find around 100 chests in the area. That’s not all, because the crumbling ruins are home to many Kinetic Boomerangs that you can snag there. And for explorers among you, ruins have a few puzzles that you can solve for some extra loot. There’s even a boss that you can seek out and fight. What’s not to like?
3. The Citadel
The giant castle towering over the map, Citadel is home to an amazing amount of loot to discover. With walls, gates, and corridors, you can get lost just exploring the place. The main citadel is also home to some of the fiercest PVP battles in Fortnite. Meanwhile, the surrounding towers house plenty of rewards like chests and floor loot.
4. Steamy Springs
Steamy Springs might look beautiful and tranquil (and it is!), but it also often turns into a battlefield. It’s an amazing landing location, with plenty of open terrain dotted with options for cover. The best part — you can heal up right there and head back into the fight. Despite its Japanese-village vibe, you can find several vehicles, and plenty of chests, floor loot, and ammo boxes.
5. Brutal Bastion
Brutal Bastion seems to be underrated this season, which makes it a perfect option to make it your own. You will find dozens of chests and even more floor loot. There’s also plenty of cover in the snowy compound. But the best part is that you can take down Cold Blooded Ace and Highcard for a major weapons upgrade very early on. From there, the map’s your oyster.
6. Shattered Slabs
If you’re looking for a more peaceful start, the Shattered Slabs on the western part of the map are the way to go. What makes this POI interesting as a starting point is that the competition will be low, since there are not many flashy mechanics like in other POIs. Meanwhile, there’s almost the same amount of chests and loot, so you can gear up to your heart’s content. There is a Vault that you can explore and the possibility for Highcard to spawn too.
7. Frenzy Fields
The farmscape of Frenzy Fields is another great option to start. You begin at a very good position to progress anywhere you want. Moreover, this place is wide open if that’s the playstyle you prefer. There’s a huge amount of floor loot to find, two Weapon-o-matics, and an upgrade bench. For extra cheekiness, you can use the hay stacks to hide in.
