Simply head over to any of the giant rocks found on the edges of this early game area to mine for the semi-precious gem.
Topaz is a yellowish stone that’s easy to recognize once you start digging away at the landscape. To make the task at hand just a bit easier, I recommend bringing a digging buddy. To do this, approach a character you’d like to mine with, then select the Let’s Hang Out directive from the dialogue options listed. With a buddy, you’ll better your odds of excavating rare finds, like high-quality Shiny Topaz.

Topaz doesn’t have any crafting uses in Disney Dreamlight Valley, so it’s a great idea to sell these gems when you manage to find them. This is an easy way to earn money from early on in your playthrough, as each gem sells for 240 Star Coins. What’s more, Shiny Topaz will net you a whopping 960 Star Coins. This certainly adds up after a day of mining, so you’ll want to devote a bit of time collecting as many gems as you can when possible.
