To survive everything the new Season throws at you, you will have to be well-protected. With that in mind, let’s see what is the Armor cap in Diablo 4 Season 4, and what that means.
The new Season of Diablo 4 introduced a lot of new content and updates. You can now modify and improve your gear with Tampering and Masterworking, fight Level 200 Bosses, get new cosmetics via Seasonal Battle Pass, and more. But, some of the improvements can go under the radar, like the change in the Armor cap. So, read on to see what the Armor cap is and what that means in Diablo 4 Season 4.
What is the Armor Cap in Diablo 4 Season 4
The Armor cap in Diablo 4 is 9230 Armor. This is the combined value of all of your gear that provides an Armor bonus. That means that any Armor above 9230 is “going to waste”.
Having an Armor value of 9230 means that you reduce incoming Physical Damage by 85%. Note that this only works on Physical Damage, Elemental Damage is not affected by armor (you have Resistances for that)
This is great news since now when you hit the maximum Armor value, you can focus on other stats. You can increase your offensive power, invest in Resistances, or anything else that will improve your build.
How to Increase Your Armor
To have the highest Armor stat possible, simply use gear that offers the highest Armor bonus. The main Armor-boosting items in Diablo 4 are Helms, Chest Armor, Gloves, Pants, and Boots. Other items may grant you some Armor via their affixes, but the five aforementioned item types are your main source of Armor.
In Season 4, Loot Reborn, introduced new mechanics: Tempering and Masterworking. Tempering allows you to add affixes to your gear, and one of the best affixes that you can add to an Armor piece is Wordly Endurance. Among other bonuses, Worldly Endurance increases the total Armor stat by 10-15%.
Masterworking, to put it simply, increases the affix bonuses by 5% per upgrade. You can improve an item by Masterworking up to 12 times. Bear in mind that the toughest Bosses usually rely on more than Physical Damage, so hitting the Armor cap is only the beginning.
