Diablo IV features several different types of materials with some that can be used for crafting, while others can be used to buy certain gear or cosmetics. One item that is important to turn into a currency are Seeds of Hatred. This guide will show players how to get Seeds of Hatred, how to purify them, and what they can be used for in Diablo 4.

How Do You Get Seeds of Hatred in Diablo 4?

Seeds of Hatred can be earned by entering any Fields of Hatred zones that can be found in some regions of the open world of Sanctuary. Notably, you will find PVP zones in the Kehjistan and Dry Steppes regions. Fields of Hatred are player-versus-player zones where players can fight other players in addition to monsters, creating a unique game mode, different from the usual PVE. These methods can be used to farm Seeds of Hatred while engaging in PVP battle.

Killing these monsters will drop the seeds as rewards. They can also be found randomly in Baleful chests, which you can see on your minimap. However, note that players can lose the seeds by dying within the Fields of Hatred too. For instance, opening one of these chests will put a Bloodmark on your character.

How To Purify Seeds of Hatred

Once players receive the seeds by defeating either monsters or other players in the Fields of Hatred, they must be purified before they can be used. This can be done by taking the seeds to the Altars of Extraction, which are located at various spots within the Field of Hatred.

The Altars of Extraction will purify the seeds into Red Dust, a PVP currency in Diablo 4 similar to gold with a much more specific purpose. While players can lose seeds by dying in the Fields of Hatred, they will not lose Red Dust after it has been purified.

What Are Seeds of Hatred in Diablo 4?

Seeds of Hatred are a type of item in Diablo 4 with a singular purpose. They are useless on their own but can be transformed into Red Dust by being purified. Red Dust can then be used as currency at special vendors found in the field’s hubs selling cosmetic items and mount rewards. These PVP vendors can be found in both Denshar and Alzuuda, along with useful waypoints.
