This and many other plants can be used to craft potions and elixirs that can boost your character and help you in your adventures. In this guide, we will explain where to get Howler Moss in Diablo 4, as well as what you can use it for.

How To Find Howler Moss in Diablo 4

There’s a variety of plants that you can gather in Diablo 4, with most regions boasting at least one unique material. Howler Moss functions the same way, and there are a couple of ways to get it.

  • You can find Howler Moss out in the world. More specifically, it is located in the far north of the world, within the Scosglen region. It’s easier to notice the resources on the map if you highlight the interactable objects in the world.
  • There’s also the recipe to refine Howler Moss from excess Gallowvine. To do that, head over to an Alchemist, like Veroka in Kyovashad, and select the Refine Resources tab in the crafting box. This way, you can refine 1 Howler Moss for the price of 5 Gallowvine and 200 Gold.

How To Use Howler Moss

Howler Moss is primarily used in crafting while visiting an Alchemist. You can use it at a one-to-one ratio to refine Howler Moss to Gallowine, but that’s likely a waste of precious material. Instead, you can use Howler Moss to craft several potions and elixirs, including the ubiquitous Healing Potions

  • At Player Level 5, you can craft Weak Third Eye Elixir which increases Dodge by 5% and Experience by 3% for 30 minutes. The ingredients are 8x Gallowvine, 5x Howler Moss, and 1000 Gold.
  • At Player Level 15, you can craft Weak Elixir of Poison Resistance which increases Shadow Resist by 15% and Experience by 3% for 30 minutes. The ingredients are 10x Gallowvine, 6x Howler Moss, and 1000 Gold.
  • At Player Level 25, you can craft Weak Crushing Elixir which increases Overpower damage by 20% and Experience by 3% for 30 minutes. The ingredients are 12x Gallowvine, 4x Howler Moss, and 1000 Gold.
  • At Player Level 45, you can craft Moderate Healing Potion which heals for 255 Life instantly and 35% Life over 3 seconds. The ingredients are 20x Gallowvine, 12x Howler Moss, 5x Demon’s Heart, and 900 Gold.
  • At Player Level 80, you can craft Major Healing Potion which heals for 827 Life instantly and 35% Life over 3 seconds. The ingredients are 10x Angelbreath, 27x Reddamine, 27x Bitterberry, 27x Blightshade, 27x Lifesbane, 27x Howler Moss, 5x Fiend Rose, and 5000 Gold.
  • At Player Level 90, you can craft Superior Healing Potion which heals for 1274 Life instantly and 35% Life over 3 seconds. The ingredients are 10x Forgotten Soul, 20x Angelbreath, 10x Fiend Rose, 20x Grave Dust, 36x Blightshade, 20x Demon’s Heart, 36x Howler Moss, and 12.500 Gold.

What Does Howler Moss Do?

Howler Moss is one of several herbs that you can gather in Diablo 4. Like Angelbreath and Reddamine, for example, Howler Moss is used in crafting recipes at Alchemist’s crafting box where you can craft potions, elixirs, and incense. The only region in which Howler Moss grows is the northern region of Scosglen, which means that it will usually take some time for players to encounter this useful herb. It’s good practice to pick it up whenever you encounter it so that you have a stock of Howler Moss ready when you head back to craft more buffs.
