As the release is getting closer, the preload for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has just started.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is the sequel to Death Stranding from 2019, made by the renowned game designer Hideo Kojima. The sequel continues the story where the first title left off, and its already stellar cast (Norman Reedus or Léa Seydoux, to name a few) has been further improved by Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and Luca Marinelli. So it is no wonder that this game is one of the most anticipated, if not the most anticipated, games of 2025. And the wait is almost over, as the official release is getting closer. And on top of all that, the preload for DS2 has just begun.
The Preload for Death Stranding 2 is Live!
On June 17, 2025, the preload for Death Stranding 2 has begun. So, you can now download the game, so it will be ready to play on the official release date. Remember that the preload should start automatically (if you have checked that option, that is). Folks who preordered the Deluxe Edition will be able to start playing on June 24. The rest will have to wait for the official release date, June 26. Note that we may have slight variations due to time zones, ie, the preload may not have begun in every part of the world.
Regarding the required disk space, Death Stranding 2 requires 91.476 GB. If your preload hasn’t started automatically, double-check if you have enough space on your disk for it. There were rumors that the game would only take about 50GB, and the fans were worried about that, thinking that the game would be short. But no, recent images by fans preloading the game show the real numbers.
So, it is only a week before Deluxe Edition owners can start playing Death Stranding 2. The wait is almost over!
