Dead Island 2 – When Do You Unlock Fast Travel?
To use the fast travel mechanic in Dead Island 2, you’ll need to progress through the game’s story until you reach The Red Mist quest. This is the 14th story quest out of a total of 24, so it will take you a while to unlock fast travel.
Once you’ve completed this quest and reached Venice Beach, you’ll meet the Blue Crab Boys, who will unlock the fast travel mechanic for you.
To fast travel in Dead Island 2, you’ll need to locate one of the stylized maps of LA that are found in most safe houses. These maps allow you to select a specific safe zone to fast travel to, provided that the region has multiple safe zones.

You can then scroll through the list of all ten regions in LA and select the one you want to travel to. This is especially useful for moving between regions separated by sewers and metros.
