Developers Surprise the Players With More Details About the Multiplayer in Call of Duty Black Ops 6

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Multiplayer

The Black Ops 6 had the most successful beta in the history of the entire Call of Duty franchise. The wait for the full release is long, and the fans are starving for some new content. Call of Duty developers probably heard about the concerns the players had about the Multiplayer in Black Ops 6, so they decided to share some more details and hype up the community.

Call of Duty Devs Share Some New Changes

On September 24, the developers shared a lengthy blog post in which they revealed some novelties coming to Multiplayer. Before they dove into the details, they thanked the community for their support. The devs noted: “We’re extremely grateful to all of you who spent time with us in the game and to those of you who shared your feedback”.

The first category the devs talked about was the Maps. Many players were confused by the size and the variety of Maps in the beta, but the devs explained that there would be 16 maps at launch, 12 of which would be medium-sized. The Map development is still in progress, but they’ll be ready just in time for October 25.

Next, they talked about spawns. The data from the beta was of major importance for the improvement of the spawn system. The devs noted: “We’re always assessing our spawn system and will continue to make necessary updates to it through launch and beyond”.

The developers also reflected on the performance. They stated: “A smooth game performance is paramount to the player experience, and we’ve been able to chase down sources of in-game “hitching” and deploy major fixes since the close of the Beta”.

When it comes to weapons, feedback from the beta helped the devs pinpoint the main problems. They explained they were working on adjusting the head damage and the bullet penetration. As you know, weapon balancing is a continuous process, so there will be more changes coming along.

Omnimovement was a win in the beta. Even the most hardcore opposers of the new mechanic were pleasantly surprised by it. However, the developers promised they’d adjust all the hitches, making it even smoother.

Some More Details Coming in the Black Ops 6 Multiplayer

In a separate section, the Call of Duty developers shared some more novelties coming to Black Ops 6 Multiplayer. Aside from reducing the overall camera motion and adjusting RC-XD controls, there are a couple of very interesting changes as well.

First of all, the devs decided to add the Kill Counter, by popular demand. They noted: “A Kill Counter on your HUD that will track your progress toward Kills-in-one-life Medals, including those who are chasing the coveted Nuclear Medal and Nuke Scorestreak”.

One surprising, but welcomed change was that the Stim Shot has been changed from Inventory Based to Cooldown Based by default. This was quite a brave decision, but it seems that it landed well with the players, as they praised it.

Let’s not forget to mention several changes made to the Winner’s Circle. The devs shortened the overall duration, improved fidelity and lightning, simplified the Emote Menu, and made efforts to reduce the Emote spam. They explained: “Players in the Winner’s Circle will now only be able to activate 1 Emote”.

Of course, these are just the details the developers decided to share, more will come in the full patch notes. The game drops on October 25, and by the looks of it, the players’ feedback has had a huge role in these final changes. So, get ready, we have a feeling that Black Ops 6 will break many records.
