Some NPCs are in dire need of assistance. Read on to see where to find Findal and how to save him in Baldur’s Gate 3.
In Baldur’s Gate 3, you will constantly be in situations where careful planning will save the day. But, sometimes, one bad move and everything will fall apart. On your travels you will occasionally find some poor souls, staring death in the face. These can be tied to a windmill, or awaiting execution. Today’s topic of one of the latter. Findal is a poor Halfling about to be executed by some Goblins, so read on to see where to find him and how to save him in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Where to Find Findal?
Findal is a Halfling that is taken by some Goblins in Act One. He is located in the Underground Passage, in the Forest area of Druid’s Grove. Directly west of Emerald Grove Environs Waypoint, on a path, a successful Survival check will point you to a Stone Door. That is an entrance to the Underground Passage. Once inside, beware of Guardian Statues, as they will shoot anyone who passes close by. These can be disabled by touching the corresponding Runes, found further on. For example, touching the Rune of the Eagle will disable the Eagle-headed Guardian Statue.
Further down the path, you will hear a group of Goblins arguing how best to torture someone, and that someone is Findal, who is lying unconscious.
How to Save Findal?
A group of four Goblins is standing over the unconscious Findal. To have Findal up again, you simply have to heal him. This is best done with ranged healing magic, like Healing Word. If you can get near, a regular Cure Wounds will also do the trick. Some fans claim that throwing a Healing Potion at him will heal him, but other players say that a direct hit will hurt him and take his last HP, so better aim next to him. Try this at your own peril.
The trick is that once engaged, the Goblins may simply attack and kill the poor defenseless Halfling. So it is best to set up an attack that will quickly dispatch all four Goblins before they get the chance to do anything.
A stealthy approach is also an option, as that way you can get close enough to heal Findal before the fight starts.
Once the Goblins are dealt with, Findal will thank you and run back to the Druid Grove. If your character is a Folk Hero, this will give you an Inspiration Point.
