Quests in Baldur’s Gate 3 can be full of mystery. Is everyone as they appear to be? In the first Act of the game, you will be caught in a conflict between the Druids, Tiefling refugees, and a Goblin army. The tensions are high, especially because the Druid leader Kagha can’t see eye-to-eye with the refugees. Can’t or won’t? We’ll have to dive deeper, as she seems to be hiding something. Let’s see how to investigate Kagha and the Shadow Druids in Baldur’s Gate 3.

The Investigate Kagha Quest

Investigate Kagha is a Quest you will obtain by snooping around and asking questions about the drudic magic, and a thing called The Rite of Thorns. To make some progress in this, you should find Kagha’s hidden chest. It is located in the round room, called Servant’s Quarters, near where Kagha is. Behind the giant stone bookshelf, there is a dark opening on the west wall, next to a tree. Climb to it and inside is Kagha’s Chest. The Chest is locked, so you can either have someone pick the lock, or steal the key from Kagha.

Inside is a book on Shadow Druids and a note, saying Kagha should meet someone in the swamp to the south. It is in a location called Decrepit Sanctuary. You will be looking for a large tree stump that is guarded by Wood Woads and Mud Mephits. Once defeated, use fire to clear up the brush in front of the tree stump, and on it look for a Wooden Crevice. Remember to press Alt to highlight objects. Inside, you will find a note and all the evidence you need to confront Kagha.

Confronting Kagha in Baldur’s Gate 3

Once you have all the evidence that Kagha is a Shadow Druid, you should rest and go back to the Grove to confront her.

You can expose her, and it will initiate a fight between Kagha and her Shadow Druids against you and other, pure, Druids.

But, there is an option to persuade Kagha to stop what she’s doing. If successful, all of you will turn on the Shadow Druids. Afterward, Kagha will reward you with Paleoak, a magic staff for Druids.

Report back to Zevlor and you will get the Hellrider’s Pride gloves as a reward. This will complete the Investigate Kagha Quest.
