I Just Don’t Understand Capcom
First it was the 5 different version of Street fighter4; then it was the 10+ on disc DLC characters for Street Fighter X Tekken. Capcom has lost all the credibility I had once had in them. It almost seem that they are purposely taking anti-consumer stances with their fighting games, and a very confusing stance with the Resident Evil franchise.
The first (recent) thing that bothered me concerning the Resident Evil franchise was how mishandled Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City was. The game wasn’t properly marketed I never saw a commercial, and most industry previews of the game leading up to it’s release were negative. Another thing that bothers me is the fact that the Resident Evil 6 demo wasn’t in this game; it’s going to be with Dragon’s Dogma. Making a consumer buy a game that has nothing to do with the game he’s anticipating; just to play a demo is yet again anti-consumer. Resident Evil 6 isn’t even out yet, and Capcom’s already making people angry especially after a Gamasutra interview where RE: Revelations producer Masachika Kawata saying that Resident Evil is too small for the survival horror genre, and Capcom bsically saying it’s abandoning the genre. Which is ironic considering…
Lost Planet 3 is survival horror… Not only that, but it’s being made by consistently shoddy developer Spark Unlimited. This game has no reason to exist, and it’s just another example of why I don’t understand Capcom.
