Valve Making A Steam-Box Console?
According to a report by The Verge, Valve is set to release a set top box that will compete with consoles. The tech blog states that Valve is developing a platform for low-cost, micro-sized PCs that would offer access to Steam’s vast library of games, but in a streamlined console-style experience. This is a similar concept to the Alienware X-51.The report claims that baseline models will have an Intel Core i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU and 8GBs of RAM which is very close to the X-51′s specs. More news is suspected to be presented at Game Developers Conference (GDC) March 5-9, but the report also says E3 is also a strong possibility.
