The SOPA (Stop Internet Piracy Act) is a dangerous piece of legislation, carrying with it the right for government to censor and monitor the internet.

Reuters discusses the intentions of the SOPA (Stop Internet Piracy Act) and how the U.S. would share a similar internet surveillance system that China utilizes for censoring its connection to the World Wide Web.

On a side note, according to an automated email from Democratic Sen. Maria Cantwell and Republican Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (among two of the wealthiest in congress), one of the core reasons behind this bill is to save corporate proprietaries from losing over $360 billion a year to movie, music, video-game and alternate media piracy.
