Nuclear Dawn Beta First Impressions – G3
"I love strategy, and I love shooting things. It’s such a shame that there’s very few games to fulfill my small niche; Natural Selection, Empires, Battlefield 2, but it’s hard to blame the developers because the mixture of strategy and action genres is like oil and water – they don’t blend, and when they do come together, bad things tend to happen, for example, dying birds and sea creatures. Assuming, of course, the animals represented players in a realistic, not virtual setting. And maybe perhaps the clean up crews could symbolize the mods…
Bad simile and exaggerations aside, InterWave studios boldly goes where few other studios tread with Nuclear Dawn. I purchased the pre-ordered edition for the early access to the beta, and well… if there’s a genre that can be easily dissected in a two week playthrough, it sure as heck isn’t the strategy-shooter genre."
