Gamepro: The Baconing Review

Will Herring writes: As a DeathSpank game, The Baconing leaves itself in something of a weird place: it seems to want to work as a standalone experience (something hinted at in its "subtitle-for-a-title&quo t; name), but its inconclusive ending does little more than set it up for the next game in the franchise. I'm sure there are plenty of gamers that're willing to watch DeathSpank's story unfold even further, but they'll hopefully have more of a reason to return to the Defender of the Downtrodden's world than the same tired combat and a few witty one-liners. The Baconing is a good game, but a lack of innovation or worthwhile improvements stop it from being a much better one.
