Wii U Rumoured To Have “50% More Processing Power” Than ps3 and xbox360

After Nintendo came clean about using PS3 and Xbox 360 footage in their Wii U E3 presentation, Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia has suggested that the Wii U will be significantly more powerful than the Xbox 360 or PS3.

Commenting on the console, Bhatia stated: ”Some of the developers we spoke to indicated to us that the console will have 50% more processing power compared to the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. This is yet to be confirmed by Nintendo.”

This comes in to contrast with what has been said by id Software’s John Carmack, that the device is comparable in muscle power to the 360 and PS3. It also says the opposite of what you might think upon hearing that Nintendo used footage from the other consoles; that the games just don’t look as good on the Wii U.

This would certainly be a new direction for Nintendo to move in after sacrificing next-gen technology altogether in favour of motion controls. Let’s hope it pays off, if it’s true
