Siliconera: In the world of Final Fantasy Type-0, all nations are under constant attack. While you’re walking on the world map you can be attacked by enemies. Players get missions from the military command like striking specific spots on enemy territory. Other times you will have to reclaim bases rivals took over. Defeat the commander and the town is once again yours. Capturing towns allows players to visit shops and buy items specific to the territory.

Specific missions advance the story. Complete a story mission and you’ll expand Suzaku’s reach with a lot of ground. Story missions flow like this accept orders –> move out –> mission –> report to commander when its complete. Sometimes players will receive special orders, which are essentially optional goals. If you can complete the mission without any incapacitated characters or retries you can earn bonus items. These goals vary from mission to mission.
