Despite widespread media reports to the contrary, BioWare is asserting that there is no SecuROM anti-piracy software bundled with Dragon Age 2.

According to BioWare technical producer Derek "CrushBug" French, the game uses a Sony security product similar to SecuROM called 'Sony Release Control'. Crushbug has assured gamers that this software is harmless, self-destructs after running once, and leaves behind nothing but some files in a temp folder that are 'never referenced again', and an 'inert registry entry that does nothing.'
